Hi I am Suraj Mahapatra from SRM UNIVERSITY currently pursuing my B.Tech in CSE Core(3rd Year) VulnerableCode: Process unstructured data sources for vulnerabilities (Category A) I want to work on the particular stuff so need a detailed discussion of the Code Vulnerability. It could be more generous if you provide a link or detail pdf link for the same about the workflow that will be grateful from your side. Also about the GSoC participation for the same |

Hello, I am Monal, a third year Btech student. I am interested in contributing to ScanCode.io, with the goal of preparing for GSoC 2026. I have started setting up the environment and am currently going through the documentation to understand how the pipelines and components work. I would love guidance on good beginner issues and areas where contributions are currently needed. I look forward to contributing and learning more. |

Subject: Introduction: Systems student (CodeSeer project) interested in Parsing & ScanCode Hi everyone, My name is Raj Shekhar, and I’m a student at Delhi Technological University. I’m writing to introduce myself for GSoC 2026. I am interested in ScanCode Toolkit because it aligns closely with my current work. I am developing an open-source code intelligence engine called CodeSeer (focused on parsing and understanding software composition), so I have been diving deep into static analysis and AST parsing recently. I’ve successfully set up ScanCode Toolkit locally and ran it against my own project to compare its license detection with my internal logic. The setup process on Windows was a bit tricky with path lengths (encountered the package_patterns_index cache corruption issue but resolved it), but I was impressed by the scan speed once configured. I’m looking through the issue tracker now for good-first-issues related to parsers or rule improvements. Looking forward to contributing! |

Hello, I am trying to join the GSoC 2026 chatroom linked in the GSOC 2026 Project Ideas page https://github.com/aboutcode-org/aboutcode/wiki/GSOC-2026-project-ideas , but the link seems to be broken/the room doesn't exist. |

Hey everyone! I'm Anmol Vats, a security researcher and developer from US. GitHub: @NucleiAv. My background is in vulnerability research and application security. I've done responsible disclosures across Trail of Bits, Pensar, OpenClaw, Caddy (CVE requested via GHSA, CVSS 8.1), the State of Maryland, and a few others. On the technical side I work mostly in Python, Bash, C and Django, with experience in SAST, threat intelligence, and GRC. I hold Security+, CNSP, ISO27001, IBM CTI, and MITRE ATT&CK Defender certifications among others. I came across AboutCode because it overlaps heavily with projects and work I've been doing around software composition analysis and vulnerability tracking. The problem space genuinely interests me and I'd love to contribute meaningfully for GSoC 2026. I've already submitted two small fixes to the repo (#285, #286) and am now exploring the codebase deeper. Looking forward to getting feedback. |

Hello! My name is Hiya Sanghvi and I am currently a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Electronics & Communication. I am passionate about open source development, backend systems, and data-driven problem solving. Over the past few years I have worked on several projects involving machine learning, signal processing, and software development, which helped me build a strong foundation in Python and system design. I am particularly interested in the PURLdb PopularCode project because it combines data analysis, dependency graphs, and real-world open source ecosystem insights. The idea of identifying widely used and influential packages through graph-based ranking and activity metrics is very exciting to me, and I would love to contribute to building a system that helps prioritize important open source components. I am currently exploring the PURLdb repository and understanding its architecture, and I look forward to discussing potential approaches and contributing to the project with the guidance of the mentors. |

Over the past few years, I have been learning programming, data structures, and web technologies, which have helped me build a strong foundation in Python, Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I am particularly interested in participating in Google Summer of Code because it provides an opportunity to work on real-world open-source projects with guidance from experienced mentors from Google and the global developer community. i am interested AboutCode organizations I am currently exploring open-source repositories, learning Git and GitHub workflows, and improving my knowledge of backend and web development. I look forward to collaborating with mentors and contributors, learning new technologies, and making meaningful contributions to the open-source community through the Google Summer of Code program.
