DGD status() monitoring

While experimenting with D3.js, the idea of monitoring status() came to mind. But I'd like to know if that's a good idea, or where to start on the DGD side if it is. Thoughts?

status() returns quite a lot of information, which can impose some overhead. When working with the cloud library, it can be more efficient to make separate status(int index) calls, instead.

Otherwise, just experiment. 😄
