Master product assets list does not have information about assets assigned to variants through image patterns

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I have used image patterns to sync images to products based on their product number. Thereafter I combine several products as variants to master product. Now, the master product does not know anything about its variants' images that are synced through image patterns, and naturally the assets menu for the master product does not display the variants images. However, the variants synced images are still displayed on the PDP. This makes it confusing for the content editor who perhaps does not know about the image pattern syncs, and therefore does not understand how images that aren't seen on the master product's asset menu can be displayed on the variant PDPs.

The content editor sees only one image related to the master product and its variants.

Two images are displayed for the variant because one is synced via image patterns.

Describe the solution you'd like
My preferred solution would be that the images that are synced to variants via image patterns are shown in the master product's asset menu. See picture below:

My second preferred option would be that the variant's assets menu would be possible to see if a variant is clicked on from this view:

However this option is still not as clear to the content editor as the first one.

Describe alternatives you've considered
The alternative is to remove the image pattern syncs since there is no easy way for the content editor to know which images are synced to which variants. That forces us to manually connect all images to products through the assets menu instead.

If you want to use the Image-pattern in that way, you must set a Pattern with the Variant identification ..

Why not using the assets checkin-tool "Digital assets checkin on Products", where you specify the Pattern on each individuel Assets category, I think that would work for you ..

Below I have tested on my solution, where assets are assigned on Products, before I combined them to one Product container.
